Make Monaco's AI work your way

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Want Monaco's AI output to match how your team works? Describe it once, and every future one follows.

AI Customization lets you shape how Monaco writes your summaries, emails, and extracts task, all in plain language. Set it for your whole team or just yourself, and it applies to every future draft.

You can customize these outputs:

  • Meeting summary: recaps of your calls and meetings

  • Follow-up email: drafts sent after a meeting

  • Opportunity summary: the state of a deal

  • Pre-meeting notes: context to prep you before a meeting

  • Task suggestions: proposed task updates from your activity

  • Reply drafts: replies to inbound prospect emails

  • Re-engagement emails: nudges to re-engage a quiet prospect

What this enables you to do:

  • Focus the output on the metrics, context, or framework your team runs on, like BANT or MEDDPICC

  • Match your team's voice and structure, no prompt engineering needed

Start with a use case

Think about what you'd change about the current output, then say it plainly. A few examples:

  • Meeting summary: "Lead with next steps and owners, then key decisions. Use bullets, not paragraphs."

  • Follow-up email: "Keep it short and a touch more formal. Always end with one clear next step."

  • Opportunity summary: "Structure every deal against MEDDPICC and flag the gaps. Call out risk and the next milestone up top."

  • Pre-meeting notes: "Surface the last thing the buyer said and any open questions from the thread."

  • Reply drafts: "Answer the question directly, match our tone, and propose a time to talk."

You don't need perfect wording. Monaco refines your notes into clear instructions in the next step.

Best practice: show an example. Better than describing what you want is showing it. Paste in a short sample of your ideal output, and Monaco will match it. Need help writing the sample? Ask Monaco Chat, Claude, or ChatGPT.

How to customize a prompt

  1. Go to Settings → AI Customization.

  2. Select the output you want to tune (for example, Meeting summary).

  3. Under Describe how you want Monaco to generate this output, write your customizations in plain language.

  4. Click Preview changes. Monaco checks your request and refines it into clear instructions under Enhanced preferences.

  5. Click Preview output to compare Monaco's default against your customized version on real data.

  6. If it looks right, click Save. The output now shows a Customized badge.

To adjust later, open the same output, edit your notes, and preview again.

Good to know

  • Applies to future runs only. Changes take effect the next time that output is generated. Anything already created won't change.

  • Layered on the default. Your preferences sit on top of Monaco's base instructions. You steer the output, you don't rewrite it.

  • Each output is separate. Tune follow-up emails without touching meeting summaries.
